Purpose of Intervention:
Project Mission: Enhance school enrolment, retention and completion thereby having increase academic performance and increase literacy level in the school in Fadama primary school Takum LGA.
Target Group: The beneficiaries of the project are the school children, teachers and community members
Before intervention: No school kitchen, poor nutrition and hygiene, no school toilet
During Intervention: Construction of school kitchen, provision of lunch for school children, assessment of health and nutrition status of the school children, construction of school toilet.
Progress: 300 school children are benefiting from the project with the provision of lunch and drugs for minor ailments
Challenges: The challenges during the implementation of the project are: poor road network bad, network coverage, lack of cooperation by some of the communities.
Solution: Awareness and sensitisation
Target: The project is targeting the low school enrolment, attendance, poor nutrition status of school children and unhygienic environment.
Effective: The intervention will enhance school enrolment, retention and completion thereby having increase academic performance, literacy level and well nourished children in Fadama LEA Primary School, Takum LGA, Taraba State.
Health: There is provision of drugs for children with minor ailments, nutrition and health status of pupils assessed, established first aid point.
Education: Increase in school enrolment
Employment: Employment opportunity was provided to the community members as volunteer cooks.
